Helping Hands

VOLUNTEERING

Since crew is a Virginia High School League (VHSL) club sport, no support is received from FCPS or McLean High School. Our McLean Crew Club (MCC) is a volunteer run organization, that cannot exist without volunteers. Family involvement in fundraising activities and operational tasks, as well as practice and regatta support, is required so that our students can row. The Virginia Schools Rowing Association (VASRA) is an association of high school Booster organizations that provides the venues, organization, resources and oversight for scholastic competitive rowing regattas. MCC is required to actively participate in VASRA and by extension our parents have VASRA requirements at each Regatta in the spring.

Volunteer credits

The system of Volunteer Credits was implemented to promote an environment where each family is contributing to volunteer needs of MCC and VASRA. Board Member, Jen Zarnowiecki (Member at Large – Volunteers) will be tracking volunteer credits earned through the year. Access to the current number of credits earned per family can be accessed by clicking the button below.

The number of volunteer credits you are expected to earn depends on the Payment Option you selected during registration.

** In order to promote equity across the MCC community, members will be charged $450 for every unfilled volunteer credit. **

Credit Tally TBD

READY TO VOLUNTEER?

Welcome to the 2024-25 season!  The button below links to the spreadsheet of operational positions for 2024-25.  If your name is listed, we are counting on you to fulfill this role during the 24-25 season.  If you see any errors, please notify Member at Large for Volunteers, Jen Zarnowiecki, right away at memberatlarge2@mcleancrew.org.  If you take an "in training" position in 2024-25, we are counting on you to take the lead next season.  This helps us maintain knowledge and expertise rather than starting fresh each year.

If you notice any errors please contact Jen Zarnowiecki.  Thanks for your support!
