Athletes and parents, please use this to help guide your choices. We encourage out-of-season rowing, and the coaches are willing to discuss any opportunities below. Also, while we present the information, we do not claim that it is perfect.

District Training Center invites competitive boys to register for our summer camp, where we will form two U19 eights and two U17 fours. This program is for experienced rowers ready to train at a high level and race throughout the summer. Selection is based on skill, commitment, and coach evaluation. Plans to race at IDR, Philadelphia Youth, and Canadian Henley

Competitive Team - TBC Racing’s summer season competitive program. Train and race at the highest levels of the sport and enjoy doing it! U17, U19, and U23 squads. Eights and fours, with small-boat practice sessions.

Summer Camp - TBC Racing’s learn-to-row summer camp teaches young athletes the basics of the sport while introducing them to the DC waterfront. Four two-week sessions are available for ages 12+.

Camps - DC National has High School and Middle School Summer Learn to Row Camps. Whether you're an aspiring rower or simply looking to try something new, join us for an exciting journey of learning a new sport. Their week-long camps are designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of rowing in a supportive and inclusive environment. Rowers will develop their skills, build their fitness, learn water safety and most importantly have fun

Youth Summer Sculling (small boat development)

Capital Rowing Club - Juniors Summer Learn to Row Camp — Capital Rowing Club
Practices out of Anacostia Boathouse in Washington, DC. If you have questions, please email juniors_rep@capitalrowing.org. A week-long intro to rowing summer program for rising 7th-10th graders. The camps generally take place in August, for ages 12-16.

Prince William Crew (PWC)
PWC offers summer competitive and developmental programs for experienced rowers. Sessions are in the morning Mondays through Fridays. All PWC summer sessions focus on learning or developing sculling skills.

U.S. Naval Academy
This overnight camp occurs in Annapolis, MD. The United States Naval Academy Athletic Association is excited to host another great year of overnight rowing camps in summer 2025! To maximize individual attention and maintain a low and safe camper-to-coach ratio, enrollment is limited so early application is encouraged.

Whitman Crew- Summer Developmental Sculling
This program is designed for athletes who already know how to row, and are looking to gain small boat experience. The program is primarily for athletes at Whitman Crew, however athletes from other teams may send an email to their coach & Coach David Noyes if interested in joining. All athletes should have at least 1 season of competitive sweep experience. Practice time will be spent in Singles and Doubles. Our goal is for athletes to feel confident taking hard steady state strokes in a single after 2 weeks.

Each week’s session will have 2 timeslots. 6:00-8:00AM and 8:30-10:30AM. Practices will be at Thompson’s Boat Center in Washington DC.

Each group is capped at 14 rowers. Rowers may sign up for up to 4 weeks however CANNOT sign up for both time slots in the same week.

Titan Rowing
Summer Crew is a great way for rising 7th through rising 12th graders to learn to row, build your skills, stay in shape and have fun! Alexandria Crew Boosters offers a variety of two-week, summer rowing programs at the Dee Campbell Rowing Center. The Programs are open to rising 7th graders, (entering 7th grade in September) and above. Sculling is open to rising 10th graders and above who have 2 years of competitive rowing experience.
There are three sessions each of:

Novice Crew (7:15-9am), Intermediate Crew (7-8:45am),  and Sculling (6:45-8:15).
