The McLean Crew Club annual Ergathon challenges rowers to do his or her personal best while raising money for the club. It’s like a dance marathon on rowing machines. The Ergathon is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and your sponsorship is critical to our success.
Checks made payable to McLean Crew Club can be given to athletes, or sponsors may give Online through the event date. Thank you for your support!
Each athlete is assigned a 30-minute time to erg within their two-hour shift with an individual goal of max distance rowed in 30 minutes. Total distance rowed by all athletes in each group will also be tracked. So, stop by and cheer on these remarkable athletes as they achieve their goals!
LOGISTICS

Ergathon is held in the Giant shopping center.

Rowers are assigned to one of two shifts: (10:00 – 12:00) or (12:00 – 2:00)

Rowers spend 30-minutes rowing and 90-minutes fundraising

Parents volunteer for one of three roles: erg transport (2-ways), AM supervision, PM supervision

THE FUN PART

Rowers are onsite for 2-hours

During the 2-hours, each athlete is assigned a 30-minute rowing slot

Goal is max distance during your 30-minute slot

Total distance rowed by all athletes in each group is tracked
FUNDRAISING DIRECTIONS
These are also on the form, repeated here for emphasis.

Record donation information on the form. Use additional forms if you need more space.

Place all donations and the donation form(s) in a regular envelope with your name on the outside.

Condense all cash into a single check. For example, if five different people gave you $20 each, write their information on five different lines on the form. Then, before turning in your envelope with this form inside, have your parent write a check for $100 to “McLean Crew Club” and exchange it for the cash.

Turn in envelopes at practice. Date TBD. (NO envelopes will be accepted the day of Ergathon)
YOUR PARTICIPATION RESPONSIBILITY

Rowers: Turn in the funds you raise AT PRACTICE on the designated date before Ergathon.

Parents: Sign-up for a volunteer slot

For Rowers
Hand in your fundraising form and donations at practice per the Ergathon Donation Form.
Be on time for your slot. We want all rowers to have an opportunity to row, therefore being on time is important.
Wear McLean Crew Shirts and Spirit wear.
Dress in layers anticipating colder weather!
