2024 W-L Crew Triathlon

Saturday, January 13, 2024 

at Washington-Liberty High School

1301 N Stafford Street, Arlington, VA

You are invited to attend the 21st annual W-L Crew Triathlon.  Check-in opens at 8:15 am. Racing starts at 8:45 am.  Athletes will coordinate with their coaches to obtain an arrival time at the designated meeting place.

​

The event consists of:

  • 4k erg

  • 2 mile run, including stadium stairs

  • Bench Rows (Max Completed in 2 Minutes)

  • Final times will be weight adjusted, by gender, to equalize all participants.

​

Awards: Top 3 finishers in each category. Winners will be determined by combined erg and run times, with time subtracted for each bench row completed.

​

Registration due January  7th at 11:59pm.

​

​

  • All athletes will coordinate with their coaches so that they choose the appropriate category for registration.

  • Complete the registration form.

  • Event is free. Donations to W-L Crew welcome.    

  • Athletes may need to complete a Waiver (TBD).

  • Bring cash for Bake Sale and Concessions at the event provided by W-L boosters.

Take the times provided as an estimate:  the exact start or finish times for flights can not be provided because each flight will contain athletes of varying speeds on the erg. There are 10 minutes separating each flight.

Experienced and Master athletes in each category are seeded based on their fastest 2k erg score during the previous year. Novices and those with no time are seeded at random.

 

The event is held rain or shine, but inclement weather can cancel the event (W-L will notify coaches and athletes as early as possible in the event it must be canceled). There are no make-up dates for the event, nor refunds.

All male and female rowers have been instructed by their coaches to sign up and participate.  This event takes place of winter conditioning.
 

Athletes are advised to bring food and drinks with them, as well as any clothes they may need for the weather on the day of the event. Cash sales of concessions at the school on the day of the event support the W-L boosters.
