arents and rowers,
If you are receiving this email it is because you/your athlete will be rowing this Saturday, March 24th at St. Andrews School in Delaware. The non-VASRA Regatta includes St. Andrew's School, Montclair and Woodrow Wilson and it is an honor that McLean Crew Club has been invited.
TRANSPORTATION St. Andrew's School in Middletown, Delaware is approximately 2 hours &15 minutes from MHS (114 miles) - Visitors should use the GPS address 560 Noxontown Road, Townsend DE 19734 and follow the crew signs past the official school entrance to the visitor's pavilion on the other side of the lake. (see map in attachment and directions on website)
If your rower is riding the bus, they should arrive at the front entrance no later that 6:45am to board the bus that will be leaving promptly at 7:00am
Athletes can drive with his/her parents (or another parent) but may not drive themselves. You must arrive at St. Andrew's School visitor’s pavilion no later than 9am to find the location and get your car parked.
If this is your first time at St. Andrews, you will enjoy a close-up vantage point on the visitor’s side of the lake. Look for the McLean Foot Trailer on the left side/water side as you drive in.
FOOD We could use a Varsity parent to tow the food trailer there and back (Regatta signup HERE)
Please use the St. Andrews Food Signup to select food to donate and send with your rower. Food donations will be collected at 6:45am at MHS to send with the buses or at 9:00am at the food trailer at St. Andrew's so that we are prepared for the rowers when they arrive.
WATER There is no potable water onsite. Each rower should bring a gallon of water.Rowers and parents need to bring reusable water bottles to refill at the foot tent.
FIRE If we secure a location near an outdoor grill/fireplace we may be able to have a gathering fire.
See the attached information for a detailed itinerary and information about the venue and regatta. But in summary:

They should eat before leaving or bring a snack for the bus – though if we get volunteers breakfast burritos may be handed out on the bus.
Racing will take place from 1:00-3:00, and then kids will derig and load the boats onto the trailer.
A quick lunch will be provided after the races
Bus will depart St. Andrews around 4:15 expected to arrive at MHS at 6:30pm
WEATHER - PARKING - CLOTHING
With the crazy weather this week we are expecting the visitor side of the park will be MUDDY. If you have an SUV, choose that car to bring because parking will be on wet grass/mud. Rowers should have multiple layers and inclement weather gear, in order to change into something dry. Packing a garbage bag or two is always a smart idea to put rower bags full of dry gear in during the day and then have somewhere to put the wet and muddy gear on the ride home.
Please read that attachment for information provided by our coaches about the St. Andrew’s Regatta including a more detailed itinerary.
