What is Erg Sprints?

Since 1986 Erg Sprints has been a way to break up the monotony of indoor winter training with a little competition.  Erg Sprints will have the usual 2,000 meter events along with traditional Erg Sprints events:  marathon, half marathon, 20-minute junior and 30-minute open/masters rows, 500 meter sprints, relays, parent/child and kids rows.  Our club usually has entries in the parent/child relay and typically have several rowers win medals in their events.  Please visit the Erg Sprints website to register and for more information:



  • Save $10 if you complete early registration by 12/31. Standard registration is January 1-21. 

  • Athletes should find out from their coach which event(s) to register for.

  • Your athlete's age on Feb 1, 2024 should be used to determine which age group they're in.

  • Athletes register at  Returning athletes should already have an account; new athletes should create one.

  • Make sure your account is affiliated with McLean High School - NOT MCLEAN CREW CLUB

  • See your coach for the appropriate "Club Point of Contact for the Race Day."

  • If you want a t-shirt, it's easiest to order it during registration

  • Everyone should be current with their US Rowing Waiver: it was a registration requirement. 

  • If you're in the market for an erg, you can put down a deposit during registration to buy one of the competition ergs.
