Charlie Butt Regatta
4/28/12 On the Potomac at TBC and Georgetown Waterfront Park. Our final regular season regatta. We are looking forward to competition with 14 other high schools from the Washington metro area. Tent near TBC.

TBC Tussle Regatta
4/21/12 On the Potomac at TBC and Georgetown Waterfront Park vs. host Whitman, Yorktown, St Alban/NCS, and Wilson. Just a beautiful day on the Potomac. Even with a different line-up of boats, McLean has a great showing against stiff competition. Results will be posted when available.

Darrell Winslow Regatta

Spring Break Training Camp

Mid-Atlantic Erg Sprints
It is official McLean Crew is the High School Trophy winner with 34 first, second or third place finishes. Detailed results to follow.

Plan for Food Tent for the 2012 Local Regattas

Food…we all love it. We can’t live without it. Most importantly, our rowers can’t row without it. But it’s a big job to provide sufficient quantities of the right food to our rowers at regattas. We have a food tent plan for the 2012 season designed to fuel our rowers with coach-approved healthy food at regattas, in a way that doesn’t put too much on just a few people. Please review this plan and take note of the requirement that all families volunteer for at least one local food tent or VASRA regatta shift. Bring any questions to the next parent meeting. Read on…

A very important tool we have for keeping everyone up to date on events and especially schedule changes, we use an emailing list. Tot he right of this column you'll see the link to sign up. It's a two-step process, after which you get 'approved' by the webmaster. This ensures we never get any spam and it stops any misuse. From that moment on you will receive all the updates by email, last-minute changes to schedules, and the latest news. You will also be able to email all the crew parents all at once, which has proven to be very useful on countless occasions.

Rowers should sign up for either the male or the female email list, and parents should sign up for the parents email list. Parents should also consider signing up for the male or female list: that way you'll always know what your son/daughter is planning with the rest of the team.

ERG TRAILERS

FCPS has decided to convert the old erg trailers back to classroom use because of increased enrollment at McLean High School. They have renovated the trailers for this purpose and we will no longer have the use of them. The coaches and I have been having ongoing discussions with MHS as far as areas for erg storage and for erg use during winter conditioning at MHS. As always, the school is being very supportive.

We have secured a shed for erg storage and we are doing our winter work in the dance room, lecture hall, weight room and hallways as necessary.

We are working toward a permanent solution and will provide updates as things develop in this area.
